The U.S. Navy has a rich heritage that goes back to its inception in 1775. “Anchors Aweigh” was written in 1906 and rallied Naval Academy midshipmen against their Army cadet rivals at the annual Army-Navy football game. For the first time in several seasons, Navy won! The lyrics were revised in 1997 and the revised, current lyrics are represented on this convenient card. The singing of Anchors Aweigh brings Sailors together under a common heritage and builds camaraderie. This card includes the full lyrics and not just the second verse that is usually sung in boot camp.
